Valley-wide access

Hidalgo & Cameron counties

We coordinate hospital-based surgical care with spine practices and surgical teams throughout both counties and across the Rio Grande Valley.

Regional care

Your surgical location is coordinated by your care team.

The appropriate surgical location depends on your spine surgeon, the planned operation, clinical needs, scheduling, and current privileges.

Patients generally do not need to arrange the access surgeon or hospital independently. Once an anterior approach is planned, the spine surgeon’s office communicates the case details so both surgeons and the hospital can coordinate.

Please confirm the final hospital, arrival instructions, and preoperative testing requirements with your treating surgeon’s office before the day of surgery.

For spine practices

Regional co-surgeon support.

South Texas Access Surgeons is structured to coordinate anterior lumbar exposure cases with independent spine practices throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

  • Preoperative history and imaging review
  • Hospital and operating-room coordination
  • Defined access-surgeon and spine-surgeon roles
  • Postoperative communication for approach-related concerns
